1. The Challenge

Hugo & Me started their business in March 2017 with a brand new Shopify website, no social media following and a limited initial marketing budget. After trying a number of online marketing solutions such as running PPC adverts with free £75 vouchers, SEO and email marketing Hugo & Me found that gaining traction was very difficult and orders were few and far between. The initial activity generated less than £500 in sales in the first 3 months.

Hugo & Me needed someone to help generate sales, increase social media exposure and help their brand to gain exposure in a hugely competitive market. After initial conversations with our account management team, it was clear that RTD’s Facebook Marketing services were perfect to accomplish their goals.

2. The solution

After a number of consultation calls with the client, our Facebook advertising team executed the following tasks:

Define targeting

We created a target customer group of Females, between the age of 24-37 based in the UK & Ireland and used advanced targeting to narrow down the audiences using common interests and page likes.

Create adverts

We created a number of static, video and dynamic advertising campaigns on the Facebook platform.

Integrate software

Our team installed the Facebook pixel tracking code, website analytics software and integrated the Shopify platform into Facebook sales channels and Facebook product catalog feeds.

Test, measure & report

We created a number of campaigns using different targeting groups, adverts and budgets to measure and then report on what campaigns are delivering the best return on the advertising spend

The strategy for Hugo & Me was delivered in three strands:

1.

Brand

As Hugo & Me were a new brand starting from scratch we created a number of brand based adverts, Facebook like campaigns and ran engagement contests with free giveaways to drive engagement and brand awareness.
2.

Customer Acquisition

We focussed a number of adverts at brand new customers to get some initial sales with unique discount codes to allow us to build an initial audience.
3.

Sales & Retargeting

Using the Facebook Pixel and Facebook product catalogs we tracked users that visited specific product pages and presented the exact products that they had been looking at to drive high conversions and a lot a new sales.

Retargeting & Dynamic Product Ads

With over 1,500 visitors adding items to cart but only 25% of customers actually placing an order, our team integrated Dynamic Product Ads and along with other retargeting campaigns to convert sales that would have previously been lost.

Since implementing a retargeting strategy, Hugo & Me have managed to recoup an additional 77 sales from customers who were previously lost.

The retargeting campaigns have been consistently delivering between 3x-6.5x return on advertising spend generating over £3,000 of revenue.

3. The results

Compared to the first three months of operating on their own, Hugo & Me saw a huge 3,321% increase in sales, 805% increase in visits and 2,514% increase in orders. Since then our team has continued to deliver some great results:
